t inspired you to work in Predators?
I’m a huge fan of the original film. I know that I have a big responsibility to convey a sense of truth in my performance. It was a very exciting process for me because all the technical stuff and the Rambo-like qualities of the character are really awesome. As a kid I loved these stories,so it’s an excuse for me to seriously go there.

did you go about preparing for the role of Royce?
I put on a substantial amount of muscle mass for the role,and the physical training was a big part of building that character. think to prepare psychologically,I had the luxury of shooting in Hawaii and we shot in thousands of acres of tropical rainforest. I’d got permission from the owners of the estate to let me stay on the property,so I isolated myself. I stayed on the property not in a hotel,and came out to workout and eat.

You seem to be redefining yourself as an actor by playing with different genres.
It’s surprising to me sometimes when people are surprised at my choices. It seems that they’re more surprised as of late. As an actor I’ve made a conscious decision not to repeat myself. It’s a challenge when you establish yourself as a certain type of actor or an actor who has not been seen in a physical role like this or in an action film,and then win the endorsement of the studio.
