At least four private schools in Noida received a bomb threat through emails Wednesday, prompting the police to conduct checks at the premises.

According to a statement by the Noida police, Step by Step, The Heritage, Gyanshree, and Mayoor received the emails in the morning. “Soon after receiving the information, the bomb detection team, disposal squad, dog squad, fire department officials and local police reached the spot for checking,” the statement reads.

In the statement, the Noida police requested parents and other people not to panic and not to believe in rumours.

As of now, nothing suspicious has been recovered, a police officer said, adding further checking was underway.

The Heritage School issued a statement to the parents about the bomb threat. “The safety of our students is our top priority, and we have immediately evacuated all students from the premises. We are pleased to report that all students have been safely evacuated,” said the school.

“Students using school transport will be dropped off at their regular bus stops. We will update you on the time of departure once the buses have been sanitized. Students using private transport can be picked up by parents/guardians from vacant ground opposite the school. We will start dispersal by 10 am,” it reads.

The police force and bomb disposal squad were on the school premises, the statement added. “We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time. We will keep you updated on any further developments,” it added.
