MCD trifurcation done,but website split will take 4 more years

Officials blame trifurcation for the delay in website operations. “Since the present software applications delivered by Tech Mahindra were meant for the unified MCD,we need to trifurcate services in order to enable the officers to handle the task efficiently in the three corporations. There are 16 citizen-centric applications in use,” the official said.

According to a senior official,important links like property tax,birth and death certificates and other applications are running on various portals but are not on the same page due to which people face difficulty in locating them. “The effort is to trifurcate the services to make it easy for people and officials,” the official said.

Meanwhile,Tech Mahindra submitted cost estimates to carry out changes in e-governance software and submitted application-wise effort break up for trifurcation of applications. Subsequently,a committee for change request management in e-governance was formed.

The committee has been given the task to consider Tech Mahindra’s estimates for changes required in view of the trifurcation.

The committee,meanwhile,agreed that fresh requirement to get the new organisation design mapped into e-governance is required so that three corporations can use the software independently.

The South corporation has passed a resolution to pay Mahindra Rs 67.99 lakh excluding taxes.
