While Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will cheer for the Indian hockey team,which will take on world champion Australia in the Commonwealth Games final,his wife Gursharan Kaur will go to Siri Fort Auditorium to root for ace shuttler Saina Nehwal,who will vie for the gold medal on Thursday.
Singh will watch the match at the Dhyan Chand Stadium in the company of former hockey Olympians Zafar Iqbal,Balbir Singh,Ajitpal Singh,Ashok Kumar and others,sources in the PMO said.
At the same time,Gursharan Kaur will join other sport enthusiasts at the Siri Fort Auditorium,where Saina would feature in the final of the womens badminton singles. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul had cheered for the Indian hockey team at the same venue,when it thrashed Pakistan 7-3 to enter the semifinals. In the semi-finals,India defeated England on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister had earlier attended the opening ceremony of the Games,along with President Pratibha Patil and Prince Charles.
