Man tries to kill self over theft charge

A 45-year-old man consumed more than a dozen sulphate tablets and went to the Ghaziabad Senior SPs office on Monday morning to submit an application highlighting his innocence in a case of theft.

As soon as Satpal told police that he has gulped down sulphate tablets,they took him to GTB Hospital in Delhi,where his condition is said to be critical.

I have been working for the past 22 years at the clinic of Dr B D Sharma. Three days ago,a sum of Rs 5 lakh went missing and he accused me. I was harassed and wrote to the local SHO at Gandhinagar police station and the SSP,but no action was taken. Therefore I am taking this step, the application said.

SP (City) S S Yadav said: There is a possibility that no FIR was registered in the case. Therefore,no action was taken. If anyone is found guilty of negligence of duty,action will be taken.
