Cyclist injured as man performing stunt in auto on Delhi’s Signature Bridge knocks him down

The incident was reported from the busy Signature Bridge Flyover in North Delhi.

The Delhi Traffic Police has impounded an autorickshaw and issued a challan to its driver after a video surfaced of a man performing stunts while dangling from the vehicle, hitting another cyclist in the process on North Delhi’s Signature Bridge.

A senior traffic officer said, “The auto in question has been impounded and its driver, Shiva of Ghaziabad, has been traced by the Delhi Traffic Police personnel. Legal action will be taken against him.”

A challan, under sections of dangerous driving, driving without a licence and other related sections of the Motor Vehicle Act was issued against the driver.

The video, which surfaced on social media, showed a man dangling from the auto-rickshaw which is seen plying on the Signature Bridge. Within seconds, the man collides with a cyclist riding on the left while a camera attached to a biker’s helmet records the whole incident.

The Delhi Traffic Police began a probe into the video and traffic personnel of the TPR circle tracked the auto rickshaw down using its registration number.

The cyclist with whom the person performing the stunt collided did not receive any major injuries, added a traffic officer.

The identity of the man who was performing the stunt is yet to be ascertained.
