(Representational Image)The stench from a body that had been lying for around a week in the balcony of a flat in Gurgaon prompted a call to police Saturday. A team reached the Serenas Society in Dhunela only to find that the man had been killed at his own house allegedly by a staffer at his grocery store after an argument over non-payment of salary, said officers.
The resident of the flat was identified as Rajeev Ojha. His daughter filed a police complaint stating that her father, who was from Bhilwara, ran a grocery shop in the Serenas Society where he lived alone on rent.
The tip-off about the body was received by police on Saturday at 8 pm. A case under 103 (1) of BNS was lodged.
With the staffer at the grocery store, identified as Arjun Kumar, missing, a team was formed, led by sub-inspector Ashok Kumar, which raided the hideouts of the accused.
On Sunday, Arjun was arrested from Agra. Police said he is a resident of UP’s Firozabad.
During questioning, police said it was found that the accused had been working for the deceased for the last three months. When the accused asked the owner for his salary, they got into an argument. On June 30 at 10 pm, when the owner was sleeping in his flat, the accused allegedly slit his throat with a knife, police said.
