Khurana undergoes surgery,stable

Doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital operated on former Chief Minister of Delhi and senior BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana on Monday.

Doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital operated on former Chief Minister of Delhi and senior BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana on Monday. Khurana was admitted there on Sunday when he fell unconscious after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

According to hospital sources,Khurana is in post-operative ICU.

The 75-year-old former Union minister fell unconscious at home around 6 pm on Sunday after complaining of severe pain in the head. He was admitted to Gangaram Hospital around 8 pm. A two-hour surgery followed. The hospital,however,said it would comment further only 48 hours after the surgery.

“His condition is stable,but any further information about his recovery can be made only after observing him for 48 hours,” said a hospital official.

Khurana had an acute subdural haematoma — rapidly clotting collection of blood outside the brain. It is usually caused by a head injury. The clot was removed during the operation on Sunday,hospital sources said.

Dr Satnam Singh Chhabra,HOD of neurology,operated on Khurana.
