Jawan held for molesting girl

An Army jawan has been arrested for allegedly molesting a girl and then assaulting police personnel at Buddha Garden in Chanakyapuri on Sunday evening. The police said an inebriated Sandeep Rana approached a couple sitting in the park and started misbehaving with the girl. When her friend objected,he threatened him. The couple then sought help from a few policemen posted there. “When the policemen went to help,he threatened and assaulted them. The police team then called for additional men,caught Rana and brought him to the station,” a police officer said. Rana was booked under Sections 353,509,186 and 323 and handed over to the Military Police.

Additional Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Shankar Dash confirmed that the jawan was handed over to the Military Police after registering the case.
