With less than a week left in the poll campaign,Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has embarked on a whirlwind tour of constituencies in her bid for Delhis top job for the fourth consecutive term. While she covered six constituencies on Monday,Dikshit is expected to visit as many over the next two days.
And in all constituencies Dikshits message to the voters stayed the same dont believe in false propaganda, vote for development and the regularisation of unauthorised colonies.
It began with a public meeting in Aya Nagar in the Chhattarpur constituency with the Congress incumbent Balram Tanwar and moved forward to Devli,Sangam Vihar,Tuglaqabad,Badarpur and Okhla constituencies.
Dikshit asked voters to evaluate the contribution of the Congress government in improving Delhi. We are committed to accelerating the pace of development to improve the standard of living of all sections of the society, she said.
According to the CM,only the Congress could have completed the regularisation of unauthorised colonies.
Incidentally, all constituencies she visited on Monday comprise a fair share of such colonies. Sources in the Congress believe the unauthorised colonies include close to 50 lakh people.
Despite hurdles,we have been able to regularise 895 unauthorised colonies in one go. The BJP has not even cared to spend a single penny on unauthorised colonies. We also granted ownership rights in 45 resettlement colonies and with these two steps the government has helped change the lives of 50 lakh people in Delhi, Dikshit said. She added that the Congress would continue to develop Delhi with similar zeal and commitment.
Dikshit also said the expansion of the Metro and commissioning of the monorails and tramways would better public transport in the city.
Do not to waste your valuable vote on the BJP and the new political party (AAP). This will only deflate the development express and take the capital city in reverse gear. Vote for the Congress to ensure stability, prosperity and development, Dikshit repeated in all her speeches.
