Ghaziabad cops get bullet-proof sentry posts

The Uttar Pradesh Police is leaving no stone unturned to make sure areas surrounding the Capital remain secure during the Commonwealth Games. To this effect,the Ghaziabad police have received five special bullet-proof and movable sentry posts.

Made of steel with six glass blocks and a tin cover on top,the sentry post can be folded to make it portable. The bullet-proof,however,works only against weapons like pistols and countrymade rifles. “We have received around five sentry post from the headquarters. There was a need for portable posts as we have trouble frequently in rural Ghaziabad. Establishing proper posts require time and money. These posts could be put in the PCR and stationed wherever the need arises,” said Reserve Inspector Karnpal Singh.

Keeping in mind the need for heightened security during the Games,most of the posts will be stationed near the regions adjoining Delhi and Gautam Budh Nagar.
