Delhi Police on Wednesday filed the supplementary chargesheet containing forensic records in connection with the murder of the domestic help, in which former BSP MP Dhananjay Singh and his wife Jagriti Singh are accused.

In a new twist to the case, the forensics report submitted in the court contradicts earlier findings by police that metal horns, sticks and iron rods were allegedly used to assault the domestic help, including the one who died. The reports states that no blood was detected on the iron press, stick and metallic horns.

“Three exhibits — a wooden danda (stick), two metallic horns and one electric iron  —  were sent for a forensic examination. Blood, fibre, skin or tissue could not be detected on these exhibits,” the supplementary chargesheet states.

In its first chargesheet filed in February this year against both the accused, police had alleged that Jagriti — who is in judicial custody — allegedly used to beat the three domestic helps with the iron, metallic horns and stick.

Police submitted the report after the court, in its previous hearing, had summoned the Joint Commissioner of Police for failing to produce the report in the case. Police had then informed the court that the report would be submitted promptly.

The JCP, through an Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, placed on record a letter addressed to the judge in this regard. “In view of the letter, the JCP is exempted from personal appearance for today. It is expected that he shall keep his word regarding expediting the proceedings” Additional Sessions Judge Lokesh Kumar Sharma said.

The court has also extended interim bail of Dhananjay till October 30, after police said they have not yet received forensic reports of the mobile and laptop recovered from the accused. It also said the report on SMSes exchanged between both the accused was awaited.
