With an alarming rise in the number of swine flu cases across the country,Newsline assesses the situation in the Capital and how the city is dealing with H1N1 positive cases.
* 216 the number of H1N1 cases registered in the Capital till date.
* The first H1N1 case in Delhi was reported on June 7 this year.
* According to the latest updates provided by the Delhis Health ministry,31 patients are currently suffering from swine flu in the city.
* Of the above,11 patients are quarantined at home,while 20 are undergoing treatment at various city hospitals.
* 3 H1N1 patients in Delhi are doctors.
* 10 hospitals have been designated by the Delhi government,where H1N1 patients are being treated in the city.
* Among the hospitals run by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi,only one has an isolation ward earmarked for H1N1 patients.
* 20 teams of doctors are working round the clock on contact-tracing and sample collection in all districts of the city.
* H1N1 samples can be tested only at 3 approved testing centres in Delhi¿ National Institute of Communicable Diseases,All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Patel Chest Institute.
* As on July 31,the World Health Organisation has reported 1,62,380 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza A/H1N1 and 1,154 deaths across the globe.
* In India,711 persons has been tested positive,of which 511 have been discharged.
