Energetic and visually stunning, with a delightful interplay of light and shadow, the piece Could I just draw your attention to the brevity of life?,choreographed by Swiss Compagnie Philippe Saire, opened at the Kamani auditorium on Monday evening to many approving chuckles from the audience. The one hour ten minute performance was a witty observation on the importance of entertainment in our lives, seen through a series of pop culture sequences and some magic and acrobatic stunts.

The show opened with a lady dressed in bright pink, surveying the audience with a beaming smile. As the music began, she feverishly darted across the stage,as other characters made dramatic entrances. Half an hour into the performance, the stage lights morphed into search lights, with huge shadows looming behind. The six performers fiddled with various props, varying from a stool, shoes, mop to sliding lights. “The props we use are not the same in every performance,” explained Saire.
