Two persons were arrested in connection with alleged cow slaughter and transporting five quintals of beef near Badarpur Toll in Faridabad, police said on Thursday.
The Haryana Government last month imposed a complete ban on the sale of beef in any form and proposed to provide for 10 years rigorous imprisonment for cow slaughter.

Acting on a tip-off, ASI Khemchand along with his team intercepted the suspected vehicle near Badarpur Toll Barrier at Sarai Khwaja in Faridabad.

A case was registered against the accused under section 5 and 8 of CS Act with Sarai Khwaja police station in Faridabad. Investigations in the case are underway, the ASI said.
