It’s a film festival that does not entertain, only questions and,far too frequently, shocks. So,it’s notable that Persistence Resistance,a film festival organised annually by city-based Magic Lantern Foundation, draws a packed house. Short films and documentaries about sociopolitical issues, environment, identity and religion among others pack the calender. This year’s offerings include a seminar on film festivals as public culture, screening of Paromita Vohra’s film on piracy titled Partners in Crime and Spandan Banerjee’s You Don’t Belong, that gives an insight into the various renditions of a folk song.

The festival will be held at Max Mueller Bhavan on February 7,and India International Centre from February 8 to 10. Contact: 26273244,41605239
