Its a film festival that does not entertain, only questions and,far too frequently, shocks. So,its notable that Persistence Resistance,a film festival organised annually by city-based Magic Lantern Foundation, draws a packed house. Short films and documentaries about sociopolitical issues, environment, identity and religion among others pack the calender. This years offerings include a seminar on film festivals as public culture, screening of Paromita Vohras film on piracy titled Partners in Crime and Spandan Banerjees You Dont Belong, that gives an insight into the various renditions of a folk song.
The festival will be held at Max Mueller Bhavan on February 7,and India International Centre from February 8 to 10. Contact: 26273244,41605239
