Family robbed in Shahdara

Four armed robbers looted cash and jewellery worth around Rs 5 lakh from a family in Shahdara area on Friday.

According to the police,two armed robbers forced their way into the house of Vikas Jain,a grocery shopkeeper in Shahadara’s Kabul Nagar,while two others kept a watch outside the house. “There were eight people in the house and the robbers kept them away from each other. No family member was injured,” a police officer said. Police said around Rs 25,000 was stolen from the house and the family in their complaint claimed jewellery worth Rs 4.50 lakh was robbed from them. A case of dacoity has been registered.
