Different Strokes

Winds of change are blowing as far as Sajid Khan is concerned.

Winds of change are blowing as far as Sajid Khan (in the picture) is concerned. The stand-up comedian-turned-director,who is to direct Vashu Bhagnani’s next production, has moved away from familiar territory — comedy — for the time being. He is now busy scripting a revenge thriller, that will be co-written by Shimit Amin (director of Chak De! India and Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year),Shiraz Ahmed (scriptwriter of Race) and Sameer Sharma (screenwriter of Swades).

Khan is understandably excited about the project. “I’ve had the story idea for the next film (untitled as of now) for over a year and started work on it in April,” says the 39-year-old,who will work on Housefull’s sequel after this. “This one has one hero and one villain,” quips Khan. About the unusual scriptwriting team,he says that Amin came on board because he found the idea exciting and Ahmed is a writer he’s always wanted to work with.
