Delhi: Boy reaches police station with knife lodged in chest, 3 juveniles held

On Thursday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy arrived at the Paharganj police station with a knife lodged in his chest. A student of a school in Central Delhi, the boy said he was stabbed by three of his schoolmates near the school gate. He was soon rushed to Kalawati Saran Hospital and later referred to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where he was operated upon and the knife was removed.

The next evening, three of the boy’s schoolmates were apprehended in a case of revenge attack, police said.

According to the boy, the three accused had confronted him at the school gate. “They argued and one of the accused threatened to kill the boy with a broken beer bottle… Then while another accused stabbed him, the others restrained him,” an officer said.

Police said an inquiry revealed that about 10-15 days ago, one of the accused had been beaten up by some boys. “He suspected that the victim had instigated and sent those boys to assault him. To take revenge, the three juveniles confronted him at the school gate,” DCP (Central) Nidhin Valsan said.

A case of attempt to murder was lodged under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The three — aged 15 and 16 — were also booked under Arms Act. Following this, they were apprehended and the knife used in the stabbing and the broken beer bottle were recovered, police said.
