Policeman killed in road mishap
New Delhi: A 45-year-old Head Constable posted in south Delhis Mehrauli police station was mowed down by an unknown vehicle in Delhi Cantonment area in the early hours of Sunday morning. The victim,identified as Rakesh Kumar,was returning to his Palam Village residence on his Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle when the accident took place.
The incident was reported around 1:30 am. Police said Rakeshs motorcycle was hit from behind by an unknown vehicle on MG Road,opposite to the office of Rajputana Rifles. The impact was such that Rakesh fell off his bike and suffered severe injuries. He had probably died on the spot as his body was lying on the road for several minutes before a passerby saw it and made a PCR call. He was rushed to Safdarjung hospital where he was declared brought dead, said a senior police officer adding Rakesh is survived by his wife and two children. A case of hit and run has been registered against unknown persons.
Karate instructor arrested for murder
new delhi: Two persons including a karate instructor were arrested,while one is absconding,for allegedly stabbing a 16-year-old-boy to death in Janakpuri area of West Delhi,police said. The deceased,Bharat,was close to two men against whom the three accused sought revenge in an assault that took place earlier on one of them.
On Friday Bharat was stabbed thrice by the three men who had come to target his two friend Ajay and Mohsin. landlord.
