Security agencies to take over venues from September 1
Security agencies and central paramilitary forces will take over the security arrangements of the Commonwealth Games Village and all venues from September 1. The move has been prompted by the realisation that the first batch of athletes and officials will begin arriving in Delhi from September 15.

Dikshit says shes nervous
With just 45 days left for the Games and many key projects yet to be completed,Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday said she was still nervous about the preparations. It is normal to be nervous till completion of all the works related to the event, Dikshit said,adding that some works have been affected due to rains in the last few days.

BTech student dies at Noida institute
NOIDA: A 20-year-old B.Tech student of a private college in Noida died under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday night. Rahul Taneja,a third-year student of Jaypee Institute,was found unconscious on the college ground and rushed to a private hospital. He was later declared dead by the doctors. While the police said the cause of death was yet to be ascertained,the college administration has initiated an inquiry into the matter and suspended the warden till conclusion of the probe.

SRKs father-in-law to undergo angioplasty
Shah Rukh Khans father-in-law R P Chhiba will undergo double vessel angioplasty at the Fortis-Escorts Hospital where he was shifted to from Max Saket late on Tuesday. Chhiba will be under the care of Dr Ashok Seth of the Escorts Heart Institute. At the time of admission,the patient was complaining of extreme chest pain and discomfort. Right now,our priority is to stabilise the patient. He will be undergoing a surgery once he is stable, said the hospital spokesperson.
