Case against Noida cop for extortion,kidnapping

A case under sections related to punishment of public servant disobeying the law and causing voluntarily hurt to any person,extortion,cheating and kidnapping has been registered.

The then station house officer of Dankaur police station,currently posted as senior sub-inspector,Pramod Singh Pawar has been named in the FIR.

P K Aggarwal,commissioner,Faridabad,confirmed that a case has been registered against Pawar and a team has been constituted for investigation.

Senior police officers in Noida,however,said they were unaware of the case. “We have not heard of a case being registered against our officer,” said Ashok K Singh,SSP,Gautam Budh Nagar.

According to the FIR,on August 26 a few people had come to Goyal’s home in Sector-16. “Goyal was unwell and was resting at home when he was picked up by a few people who told him that they are from Noida police. They took Goyal to Dankaur police station where the accused inspector asked the dealer to shell out Rs 10 lakh,which Goyal gave to be released. He was also taken to women’s police station too. The officer threatened Goyal with dire consequences if he registered a complaint,” a senior police officer said.
