The Faridabad police recently registered a case of extortion,kidnapping and hurt against a Noida police officer. According to Faridabad police,the officer had allegedly abducted a property dealer from his residence in Faridabad,demanded money and threatened him against registering a complaint.
Though the incident happened on August 26,the property dealer,Praveen Goyal recently registered an FIR at the Central police station in Faridabad.
A case under sections related to punishment of public servant disobeying the law and causing voluntarily hurt to any person,extortion,cheating and kidnapping has been registered.
The then station house officer of Dankaur police station,currently posted as senior sub-inspector,Pramod Singh Pawar has been named in the FIR.
P K Aggarwal,commissioner,Faridabad,confirmed that a case has been registered against Pawar and a team has been constituted for investigation.
Senior police officers in Noida,however,said they were unaware of the case. We have not heard of a case being registered against our officer, said Ashok K Singh,SSP,Gautam Budh Nagar.
According to the FIR,on August 26 a few people had come to Goyals home in Sector-16. Goyal was unwell and was resting at home when he was picked up by a few people who told him that they are from Noida police. They took Goyal to Dankaur police station where the accused inspector asked the dealer to shell out Rs 10 lakh,which Goyal gave to be released. He was also taken to womens police station too. The officer threatened Goyal with dire consequences if he registered a complaint, a senior police officer said.
