SAFF athletics postponed
South Asian Junior Athletics Championships,scheduled in Chennai on December 11 and 12,has been postponed even after athletes from a participating country had arrived in the southern city. Athletics Federation of India today said the postponement was “due to certain unavoidable circumstances” but sources confirmed that it was done as some participating countries have expressed inability to send their athletes for the event. “Fresh dates will be intimated later on after consulting SAF Competition Committee,” AFI said in a statement. India were to be represented by 33 boys and girls — all the medal winners in the recently concluded National junior meet in Warangal.

Delhi Audit in quarters
Delhi Audit,Ministry of Finance,AFHQ cantered to 3-0 victories over their respective opponents to ease into the quarter-finals of the men’s team inter-ministry badminton championship. Audit defeated Cabinet Sect while Finance ministry spanked NIC. In another match Railways board went down tamely to AFHQ. Rajeev Verma,AP Singh,Vikram Bhasin,KP Singh,Shailender and Amit Tyagi all won their respective singles encounters for the teams.

Bharat Nagar School enter semis
Nakul Sharma scored 60 while Akash Sharma and Pawan Dabas picked three wickets each as Bharat Nagar School beat DPS Mathura Road by 4 wickets to enter the semi-finals of the 9TH Ganga under-17inter-school cricket tournament.

Kharab wins under-19 tourney
Man of the match Dhanij Rathi picked four wickets for 25 runs as Kharab Sports beat Chiranjeev Bharti School by 19 runs and win the H.S.MEHRA under-19 cricket tournament at Najafgarh ground. Jerry Stephen was adjudged the best batsman,Mahesh Prashad was declared the best bowler.

Devender helped Poorvanchal to win the North Zone Disabled Challenger Trophy

Man of the match Devender scored 42 runs to help Poorvanchal (Uttar Pradesh)

Beat hosts Delhi by a narrow margin of 5 runs and win the North Zone Disabled Challenger trophy at the IARI Ground,Pusa road. Vishanuvardhan was declared the best batsman while Raju Soni was named the best bowler. Devender.won the best all-rounder title.
