Malhotra named Man of the Match
Modern School (Vasant Vihar) beat Modern School (Barakhambha Road) 4-3 on penalties to win the 6th SP Kundu Inter School Memorial Cup on Sunday after the regulation time ended 1-1. Prithvi Raj Malhotra was named the man of the match and the player of the tournament.
PNB win 6-0
Punjab National Bank thrashed MP XI 6-0 in their senior Nehru hockey tournament match on Monday. They went up 4-0 in the first half with Lakhwinder Singh scoring a brace and Ravinder sounding the board once. On resumption,Banmali scored in the 48th minute while Yudhvir Singh rounded off the tally in the 54th minute.
In another match,Karnataka XI comprehensively won 5-1 against Central Railways. CK Uthappa scored the first goal for Karnataka in the 34th minute. Railways pulled one back through Deepak Lakra but Uthappa added another one and KD Dinesh scored three minutes from time to complete the rout.
In the third match,Rock Rovers won 5-4 against Indian Air Force. Gurjinder Singh and Gagandeep (Sr) scored a brace each while N Rawat scored once for Rock Rovers. For IAF,Virender scored a brace while Prabhakar and Rajesh scored one each.
Joon takes five
A brilliant five-wicket haul by Joon Pahariya (5/3) helped Government School (Bharat Nagar) beat Vidya Jain Academy by 133 runs to lift the 3rd Boost Cup Inter School under-16 cricket title at the Bharat Nagar ground.Pradeep Malik was named the best batsman of the tournament while Joon Pahariya was awarded with the best bowler of the tournament. Nakul Sharma was named the man of the tournament for his all-round display.

Good bowling by Utsav Chaudhary (3/22) and Unmukt Chands 2/10 helped Modern School Barakhamba Road beat Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan by 7 wickets in the DAV Dayanand Vihar Premier league at Chilla sports complex ground.
