Delhi govt: Licence of BSES Yamuna, Rajdhani may be cancelled

Days after Power Minister Satyendar Jain wrote to Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group chairman Anil Ambani about the “atrocious performance” of BSES companies in Delhi, sources said the government is considering the cancellation of licences granted to BSES Yamuna and BSES Rajdhani.

A government source said, “Despite several warnings from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the performance of both BSES companies continues to be poor. Therefore, the government is considering the cancellation of licences issued to these power companies.”

In a meeting with CEOs of the companies, Kejriwal had warned them that the government will take very strict action if their performance does not improve, added the source.

Requesting a concrete roadmap to improve the performance of the companies, Jain had said Ambani might have had a “cosy relationship with the previous government in Delhi but the AAP government will not hesitate to take strict action to protect the interests of people”.
