Couture king Tarun Tahiliani clearly isnt satisfied with just dressing up the bride. Tahiliani, who has occasionally designed elaborate wedding sets for close friends,is suddenly taking the Indian wedding industry very seriously. In a first-of-its-kind bridal exposition at DLF Emporio on Saturday, seven separate sections, displaying ensembles for different days of the wedding, were put together by Tahiliani in his typically understated style. The Bridal Couture Expositions concept is similar to the installations based on the costumes of royal India, which were held in the late 1980s at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art,New York, said Tahiliani, swivelling a glass of red wine. The marquee, spread over 10,000 sq ft,was decorated with intricate spires, temple pillars and a mural. Spotted enjoying the party were Priya Chatwal,Binita Cooper, designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra and Shivani Wazir Pasrich.
