Making faces at a classmate and calling him names proved dangerous for a 13-year-old boy. Monti Kashyap,a student Class VIII of Shanti Niketan Public School and a resident of Brij Vihar,found himself stabbed in the neck and stomach.
The incident took place on Saturday as the boys were playing outside the school premises during recess.
According to the other boys present,Monti had teased him earlier too,and the boy was incapable of controlling his temper, said Raghubir Lal,Senior Superintendent of Police,Ghaziabad. This time,he had come armed with a knife and stabbed Monti.
The boy sustained injuries in his neck and stomach and was admitted to a local hospital. He was discharged on Sunday,the SSP added.
The police have registered a case under IPC Section 324 voluntarily causing hurt by a dangerous weapon. We have not registered a case under IPC Section 307,which could charge him for attempt to murder as the motive is not clear and the attacker is a juvenile, added the officer.
The school authorities could not be contacted. The family of the assailant is absconding.
The fathers of both boys work as labourers in Moradnagar.
