A Delhi court on Friday ordered registration of a criminal case against two senior Delhi Police officers following a complaint that they had forged official records to implicate a police inspector in a corruption case.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav ordered registration of an FIR against Joint Commissioner of Police (Vigilance) N Dileep Kumar and former deputy commissioner of police (Anti-Corruption Branch) I D Shukla.
The complaint under CrPC was filed by K G Tyagi,a former Crime Branch inspector. The court ordered that the matter should be probed by the Special Cell and directed it to file a report on January 10.
This is just his way of trying to stall the case hearing. This will have no bearing on the case, said JCP Kumar.
Tyagi alleged that the officials implicated him in a corruption case and registered an FIR against him on October 17,2008,leading to his arrest and suspension from the job. He alleged that they destroyed the electronic evidence with regard to intercepted conversations in the matter.
A case was registered against Tyagi by the Anti-Corruption Branch, accusing him of demanding over Rs 20 lakh from Abhinav Krishna Shrivastava, son of a murder accused, for not invoking MCOCA against his father.
