Prima facie, a case of homicide is made out and a murder case is being registered," said the DCP. A day after Delhi Police found dismembered body parts in Sunlight Colony, investigators have contacted Noida Police, who recovered severed body parts from a drain in Sector 8 earlier this week, in connection with their probe.
While the Delhi Police found a human skull, wrist bones and hair, their counterpart in Noida recovered severed arms and legs, said officers.
DCP (Southeast) Rajesh Deo earlier said they had received information at 11.56 am Saturday regarding the body parts found near Sarai Kale Khan ISBT, under a Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) station construction site. “The body parts were in various stages of decomposition. We are not sure of the gender or identity yet… We have sent the parts to AIIMS and a medical board will conduct an autopsy,” the DCP said.
A police source said: “The parts were lying near the RRTS area. It is a crowded space because of traffic… There are no CCTVs on the stretch. The suspect must have dumped the parts two-days ago. Prima facie… it seems the murder was committed at least 7-14 days back… it appears the victim was hit on the head.”
Senior officers said they suspect the accused must have dumped the body parts at different places to evade arrest. “It looks like the body parts (found in Noida) are four-five days old. They were dumped in a 3-4 foot deep drain. Noida Police had conducted an autopsy and suspect the parts belong to a woman,” said an officer.
“It is yet to be ascertained if the bones recovered from Delhi match with those found in Noida. A forensic examination will be conducted along with the autopsy. We will then come to a conclusion,” said police.
