Body found near Rajpath

The body of a 20-year-old tea seller was found lying 100 metres from Rajpath early on Monday, hours before the Republic Day celebration was to begin.

A senior police officer said, “The body was found near Udyog Bhawan. Police personnel thought he was asleep and tried waking him up, but realised he was dead. Injury marks were found on the body, though the cause of death will be ascertained only after the autopsy. We are questioning all persons who work in and around the area, including the shop owner.”
