After suspending services across Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, BluSmart has told customers it may take up to 90 days to refund their in-app wallet balances. (File)A cab driver who works with ride-hailing company BluSmart was arrested for allegedly robbing a customer of Rs 55,000 while holding her at gunpoint, police said Monday.
According to police, a woman who works as a freelancer in the medical tourism industry filed a police complaint stating she had booked a BluSmart cab from Airia Mall in Sector 68 to Microtek Greenburg residential society in Sector-86 on November 30.
“While traveling in the cab, upon reaching Sector-83, the cab driver sprang up on her, threatening her with a gun, and forced her to transfer Rs 55,000 online. Once the payment was complete, the driver fled with her suitcase after forcing her to get out of the cab. The company also claimed they assisted the law enforcement authorities with information and during the search that enabled the arrest of the accused within 24 hours. “This was possible due to the company’s practice of keeping active records of all driver partners, their background checks, address and other details.
