The accused was summoned and detained by police and will be presented at the JJB. “When he came to the police station with the weapon he was laughing. This means that he had planned everything,” said the victim's uncle.

The 16-year-old, who allegedly fatally stabbed his tuition class peer, had pre-planned the murder of his classmate, alleged the victim’s family. They said he came to the police station laughing when summoned by police. Speaking to The Indian Express after the victim’s funeral Monday night, the deceased’s uncle demanded the accused be tried as an adult and not as a juvenile.

Police said that the accused fatally attacked the victim inside a private coaching centreon Monday morning with a knife. Police have confirmed that they will press for the juvenile to be tried as an adult with the Juvenile Justice Board.

“This is a murder and the accused should be tried as an adult. These are class 10 students and as the class ends the student carried out the pre-planned murder. (The victim) was wearing a hoodie and the accused asked him to take off the hoodie on the pretext that he was feeling cold. But in reality it was so that he could stab him properly. He then attacked him with the knife on the head and neck,” said the victim’s uncle.

The uncle added that Pushkar was beaten up by the accused with seven to eight other people a few days back as well. “He came home with torn clothes but he did not tell us he was beaten up. He told us his clothes got torn because of some metallic wire. The accused also did not attend the class for many months but just came to class on Friday and today. We have now been told all of this by Pushkar’s friends and the teacher. We feel that this shows he had come only to murder,” he added.

Carried to hospital on two-wheeler

A person who resided near the private coaching class where the incident took place rushed the victim to the hospital on his two-wheeler after the attack.

“My wife was outside, probably drying clothes or something like that and she saw the teacher carrying out the injured child. She called for me and said that the teacher was screaming for help. I went out and the child was covered with blood. He had cuts on his head, neck, and torso,” he said.

Not wasting time waiting for an ambulance, he and another neighbour set off to a hospital on a two-wheeler. “The hospital told us that his situation is bad and he must be taken to the government hospital. We went to the government hospital in an ambulance and they declared that he had already died. The private hospital did not tell us this.”
