Back in Action

Just when Madhuri Dixit seems to be gearing up for her return to the silver screen,Bollywood is buzzing with news that Dixit’s rival of yesteryear,Sridevi,too,has signed a film. The film will be produced by R. Balki of Paa fame,though there is no information about the character Sridevi will play.

Sridevi was last seen in a blink-and-miss role in the 2008 film,Halla Bol.

Though the actress,who gave hits like Mr India,Chandni and Nagin,was unavailable for comment about her comeback,her husband and producer,Boney Kapoor confirmed the news. “Sridevi is very excited about the script and the film is being directed by Gauri Shinde,Balki’s wife,” he said. The actress took a break from Bollywood in 1997.
