For Delhi University (DU) aspirants from outside the capital who could not meet the sky-high cutoffs, Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) was an alternative choice because of its relatively lower cutoffs. This year, however, hopefuls may not find relief as AUD has increased its cutoff by as much as 5 per cent for general category and 15 per cent for SC candidates in many courses with Commerce students from outside the National Capital Territory (NCT) requiring a perfect score if they want to apply for BA (Hons) with a major in English, Psychology, Sociology, Social Science and Humanities.

The first cutoff was released by the university on Monday night. For students outside the NCT, the cutoff for Sociology has seen a rise of 4 per cent over last year, Psychology and Social Sciences, and Humanities have seen a rise of 3 per cent each and English cutoff has risen by 2 per cent.
