Cloudy sky,light shower on Sunday

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted cloudy sky and a light shower for Sunday,which is expected to bring down the mercury level in the Capital. The temperature will,however,begin to rise from Monday. According to the weatherman,the day will begin on a cloudy note,but will dissipate by evening. “There was a western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir,which is subsiding. So,from Monday,temperatures will start climbing again,” he said,adding that the Capital may witness more precipitation next week.

Proficiency test dates declared

New Delhi: The CBSE has issued the dates for the optional proficiency test for students who appeared for Class X this year. The test,will be held on July 4 for Mathematics,July 5 for Hindi,July 6 for Science,July 7 for Social Science and July 8 for English. Students appearing for the test will be issued a certificate by the Board indicating their percentile rank.

BSF personnel held for murder

New Delhi: A 29-year-old BSF personnel was arrested for allegedly murdering his colleague who had confronted him for having an affair with his wife,police said. Dinesh Kumar,from Haryana’s Bhiwani,who was at large for about one year,was apprehended from Civil Lines area on Friday. “He was wanted by Rajasthan Police in the murder case and was residing in Rohini to evade arrest,” said S S Yadav,Additional Commissioner of Police (North).

Industrial licence for upper floors

New Delhi: In a bid to regularise factories in the industrial areas of the city,the MCD has started giving licences to all floors of industrial buildings located in its areas. Earlier,only ground floor could have industrial activities. “According to the previous law,only the ground floor could receive a licence,but industrial activities (continued on other floors) without licences. To fix the problem,the MCD has (decided to) allow licences to the rest of the floors,” said Subhash Arya,Leader of the House,MCD. The move is also expected to bring in more revenue for the civic body,in terms of licence fees.
