DUSU polls on Sept 3
Elections to the Delhi University Students’ Union will take place on September 3,the authorities said on Tuesday. The last date of receipt of nomination papers is August 24 and the date of display of final list of candidates is August 26.

Sectt gets media centre
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday inaugurated media facilitation centre in the Delhi Secretariat,which has been commissioned at cost of Rs 50 lakh. The centre has an amphitheatre-shaped sitting arrangement for 50. It has five computers with Internet,printers,scanners and television sets.

Car thieves shoot driver
Noida: Assailants allegedly shot at a car driver in an car theft bid before fleeing with a passerby’s bike. The police said the driver,Naresh,was sitting in a Corolla outside the Great India Place mall while the car owner,Prabhakar Mishra,was inside the mall. The driver claimed three men arrived and tied him up at gunpoint. The driver started shouting for help and was shot in the leg. A passerby,Hafiz,heard the driver and came to his help. The men then left the car,snatched the bike and fled.
