Two die in road mishap at ITO
New Delhi: A Maruti Omni driver and his helper died when their speeding vehicle crashed into a stationary Mahindra dumper under the ITO flyover early Thursday morning,police said. The deceased have been identified as Manveer Kumar (25) and Dharmendra (20),natives of Bulandshahr and Gorakhpur respectively. The incident took place around 3:15 am. Manveer was driving the van while Dharmendra,his helper was seated beside him. The victims worked as contract employees in the circulation department of a Hindi newspaper. They were transporting newspapers to the New Delhi railway station from the newspapers printing office in Noida when the accident took place.
Two cases of sexual assault on minors in 24 hrs
New Delhi: Two incidents of minor girls having allegedly been sexually assaulted were reported in the capital in the past 24 hours. The first incident was reported in West Delhis Tilak Nagar area on Wednesday where a middle-aged man has been accused of having sexually assaulted his 13-year-old daughter. Mohammad Salim,39,has been detained following the allegations,police said. In another incident,a 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl continuously for the past three months. The victim,who is a resident of Anguri Bagh area near Lal Quila was assaulted by her neighbor. The incident came to light on Thursday after the victim caught the attention of an NGO worker. Police have arrested Sushil (28),the victims neighbor in the case.
