Man stabbed to death,brother injured
NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death while his brother injured by two men in West Delhis Nihal Vihar area late on Friday night. Police said the victims had objected to the accused,who were reportedly drunk,from hurling abuses. The accused Nadeem and Mohsin are absconding. They were drunk and were hurling abuses. The victims stepped out asking the duo to refrain from doing so in the presence of women and children. Following this,the accused left, said a senior police officer. The duo returned around 10.30 pm and entered into a verbal spat with the victims,Manoj and Jagbir, said V Renganathan,Additional CP (West). During the argument,the accused stabbed the brothers multiple times,killing Jagbir.
Six questioned for swimming pool contractor murder
New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Saturday questioned six persons in connection with the murder of swimming pool contractor Trilok Singh Tokas,who was shot by three assailants in Munirka on Friday. We have launched a tenant verification drive. Six persons matching the description given by eyewitnesses have been questioned,but no one has been detained so far said Chhaya Sharma,DCP (South). Family members have claimed professional rivalry in his death.
DU: SC,ST students can submit online marksheets
New Delhi: Applicants of DU under the Scheduled Caste,Scheduled Tribe and Physically Handicapped category who have not received their Class XII marksheets yet,have been allowed provisional registration with the help of self-attested copies of online marksheets. Students will be allotted seats in the first round of admissions,which begins on the June 15,provided they submit the original marksheet before 1 pm on June 11. Students who submit their marksheets between June 12 and 24 will be allotted seats only in the second round of admissions.
MNC employee found dead
Gurgaon: The body of a 30-year-old man,identified as an employee of IBM Daksh,was found at his house in Palam Vihar on Saturday. The victim has been identified as Anurag Agnihotri,who had come to Delhi from Kanpur. Police suspect the cause of death to be poisoning. No suicide note has been recovered. We are yet to find more details, said Maheshwar Dayal,DCP (West).
