Railways officers demand pay parity

NEW DELHI: The Federation of Railway Officers has been agitating against an anomaly in the pay of general managers implemented since the Sixth Pay Commission. The Commission recommended that GM-Railways,DG Police and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests get a pay between Rs 75,500 and Rs 80,000. During implementation,the government gave DG Police and PCCF Rs 80,000,but kept GM-Railways in the Rs 75,500 to 80,000 bracket.

Woman hangs daughter,kills self

NEW DELHI: A woman and her one-year-old daughter were found hanging from the ceiling fan at their residence in Dakshinpuri,Southeast Delhi,on Friday. No suicide note was recovered. Identifying the two as Sunita (22) and her daughter,Pratigya,police said her husband,Surjeet,was at his shop when the incident occurred.

Seven-year-old girl raped in Gurgaon

GURGAON: A seven-year-old girl was raped in Dundahera village,in the Udyog Vihar police station limits,on Thursday. The girl’s parents registered an FIR late in the night,following which she was sent for a medical examination. “The examination confirmed rape. But the girl is in a state of shock,” Investigating Officer Madan Lal said.
