Dwarka resident goes missing in Gurgaon
New Delhi: A 28-year-old insurance adviser from Dwarka has gone missing from Gurgaon,where he had gone to collect cash on Wednesday morning. The victim,identified as Ashok,a resident of Sector 7 in Dwarka,had gone to Bundi Khera in Gurgaon in his Alto to collect cash from his clients. His wife has lodged a complaint. She had a conversation with her husband around 4 pm on Wednesday,when he told her he would be home by 5 pm. After that his phone was switched off, said a senior police officer. Ashoks car was found abandoned in Chawala area on Thursday morning. We checked the car and some documents were found scattered. An empty wallet was recovered, the officer added. Police are scanning the call details.
Mayor to write to Home ministry on MCD split
New Delhi: After recently taking charge of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi,Mayor Rajni Abbi plans to send a detailed report to the Union Home Ministry outlining the reasons why the civic body should not be divided,as proposed by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Abbi said she is consulting the Law department and getting a report prepared on the issue. Earlier,the Delhi government had also sent its recommendations on the MCD split to Home ministry.
6 teams to probe bid on life of former councillor
Gurgaon: Gurgaon police have formed six teams to investigate Wednesdays firing incident in front of the Municipal Corporation office,in which assailants opened fire at former municipal councillor Virendra Singh alias Binder Gujjar and his aide Anil Kakran,leading to the latters death. Police said they have no leads on their identity so far,or even the vehicle they used. Police have not been able to get sketches prepared of the killers,as none of the eye-witnesses could get a look at their faces.
