Bail plea of Citibank accused rejected
GURGAON: Additional Sessions Judge Vimal Kumar on Saturday rejected the bail application of Gaurav Jain,accused in the Rs 460-crore Citibank fraud case. As the application was rejected by the Sessions Court,neither Gaurav Jain nor Sanjay Gupta will be able to get bail from any court in Gurgaon now,Citibank lawyer Harish Malhotra claimed.

Nigerian footballer held with heroin
NEW DELHI: A 33-year-old Nigerian footballer has been arrested from Pitampura,Northwest Delhi,for peddling 6 kg of heroin,worth around Rs 6 crore. “The accused,Simon O Umukoro,was planning to sell the contraband to a resident on Friday evening,” said Ashok Chand,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime). Umukoro had reportedly come to India on a one-month visa in March 2008 for purchasing synthetic hair,but stayed behind.

Constable,aide held with illegal arms
NEW DELHI: A Delhi Police constable and an associate were arrested from Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh for possessing illegal arms,police said on Saturday. “The accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar,a constable of Karawal Nagar police station,and his associate,Chottu,” said a senior police officer. A .315-bore rifle and some cartridges were recovered from them.
