The Ghaziabad police have finally secured the custody of the alleged mastermind behind the looting of Muthoot Finance Limited in Sahibabad area on October 30. The accused,Neetu Singh,surrendered at a Tis Hazari court in Delhi,the police said,adding that he has been sent to Dasna prison. The police have reportedly secured jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh from him.

Take up census duties or face action: Noida to govt officials

Faced with uncooperative government officials who don’t want to take part in Census 2011,the Noida Authority has decided to register criminal cases against them. In a letter issued on Friday,the Authority has warned all officials who have been allocated duties to present themselves at a training workshop being organised at the Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra on Saturday. “The officials have been warned that absence from the workshop will be booked under the Census Act 1948,” the directive stated.

Four children escape abduction bid,but man flees with 2-yr-old

Four children,aged between 10 and 4,escaped a kidnapping bid after being taken to Noida by a man who reportedly offered them food. The man,however,managed to abduct the fifth child,a two-year-old boy. According to the children’s parents,their children were playing near Sai Mandir,Nyay Khand-I in Indirapuram when a man came to them and offered them bananas and promised to give them samosas if they came with him.

Spurned man morphs,circulates woman’s photos

The Gujarat Police has detained a 23-year-old man from Ghaziabad for allegedly morphing the photos of a girl and circulating them on the Internet after she turned down his marriage proposal. SHO (Indirapuram) Rajesh Dwivedi said a police team from Vadodara has detained Madhur Bharadwaj,a resident of Vasundhara. Police said Bharadwaj had met the girl in Gujarat during a visit a few months ago. “When he asked her to marry him,she refused,” a police officer said.Bharadwaj then allegedly hacked into the girl’s email account,and morphed her photos.

ATM cash van heist: Joint team recovers Rs 67.5 lakh

A joint team of the Special Cell and the Southeast Delhi police has recovered from UP the amount of Rs 67.5 lakh that was stolen by two security agency employees who had fled with an ATM cash van from Alaknanda area on January 28. Three of the accused were arrested.

School clerk shot dead in front of family

A lower divisional clerk at Sanskrit Vidhyapeeth in Janakpuri was shot dead near his residence by armed assailants in South Delhi’s Neb Sarai area at 10.30 pm on Thursday. The deceased,Naveen Rawat (30),was returning home along with his family when the incident occurred Naveen’s brother said the family has no disputes with anybody.
