Apollo arms itself for fight against cancer

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit inaugurated Novalis TX,a state-of-the-art piece of equipment meant to battle cancer,at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital on Saturday. Kiran Walia,Minister for Health and Family Welfare,was also present on the occasion.

According to a release from the hospital,Novalis TX would provide an extensive range of radiotherapy procedures for treating cancer patients.

Describing it as the latest in the “arsenal dedicated to battle cancer”,it stated that Novalist TX is available only in select medical centres across the world.

The equipment helps patients receive accurate and quick treatment — ensuring a better outcome and more comfortable patient care. Novalis TX also has the ability to perform scans while patients are undergoing radiotherapy.
