Another earphones death: 35-yr-old run over by train

A 35-year-old man who was crossing railway tracks while listening to music through his earphones was run over by a train on Thursday. Police said Suresh Singh did not hear the train coming as he had earphones plugged in while he was crossing the tracks in Azadpur,North Delhi.

A passerby informed the police and Singh was rushed to a hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival. The body still had the earphones plugged in and a mobile phone was recovered from the spot,police said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police B S Gurjar said,“It appears the man was listening to music on his phone and could not hear the approaching train.”

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
