Identity of top rank-holder not clear yet
At least three students from Delhi featured among the top 10 ranks of the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE),whose results were announced on Sunday.
The identity of the topper from the city, however,is still not clear, with no individual or coaching centre claiming the top spot.
Fifteen year-old Satyender Yadav from Haryanas Rewari, who came to Delhi and stayed in Nawada to prepare for the exam, came sixth in the country and second in the city. Having secured the 60th rank in the IIT-JEE,Satyender is likely to join an IIT.
I want to do Computer Science from IIT-Delhi,and then go on to become a scientist. I have not yet decided on what I will specialise in,but it is likely that I will do my research on computers, he said.
Satyender studied in the Shri Sanatan Dharam Saraswati Bal Mandir,Punjabi Bagh. Interestingly,he has not topped his school, securing 90.4 per cent in his Board exams. These are different things. The others studied well for the Boards, he pointed out.
Shivam Handa has ranked third in the city and ninth in the country.
