In a case of alleged human trafficking,an agent was arrested for submitting fake documents at the Australian High Commission to obtain a visa.
Police said they arrested Kunjeen,who was hired by one Jaffar. Kunjeen lured 16 people from Kerala by promising them valid Australian work permits for Rs 1,60,000 each,police said.
Jaffar reportedly hired Kunjeen to make arrangements,including fake documents for the group of 16 people willing to go abroad at any cost,and promised to pay him Rs 50,000 once the reached Australia.
In a complaint to police,Australian embassy officials said documents submitted by Kunjeen had a counterfeit stamp of the Australian High Commission. They came with the documents and paid Rs 1,88,000,for a work permit visa. It was found that they had supplied fake documents, the complaint said.
