(Representational Image) After a woman’s death inside a lift at a high-rise, resident welfare associations in Noida have reiterated their demand for a Lift Act in the state.
Rashmi Pandey, president of Gautam Budh Nagar Vikas Samiti, said that in 2018, a Lift and Elevator draft act was prepared by PWD. But it is yet to be cleared.
“Noida and Greater Noida have the highest number of high-rise buildings. Lifts have become our lifeline now,” she said.
