There are 83 colleges in DU,of which 63 offer admissions at the undergraduate level...

* There are 83 colleges in DU,of which 63 offer admissions at the undergraduate level

* A total of 49,000 seats are available in various undergraduate courses this academic session

* This represents an increase of 7,000 seats over last year’s 42,000 seats,of which 9 per cent seats were reserved for OBCs

* This year,reservation for OBCs has increased to 18 per cent,bringing the total number of seats reserved for this category to around 8,800. 5,052 seats were reserved for OBCs last year

* Of the total number of available seats,the Scheduled Tribes (ST) seats comprise 7.5 per cent or 3,500 approximately

* The seats reserved for the Scheduled Castes (SC) are 7,350 approximately. More than 2,500 students have so far registered themselves under the SC/ST category for a seat in DU

* Seats for the physically challenged increased from 1,000 last year to 1,500 this year

* Students from the general category will be vying for about 29,000 seats. Last year,27,000 seats were available to them

* The sale of forms started on June 1 and around 95,000 forms were sold during the first six days

* 12,000 forms were received in the first six days

* The number of forms sold in the last one week stands at 1 lakh

* The number of forms received has been much less. At centres like Kirori Mal College and Hindu College,a total of 29,318 ICR forms and 25,000 ICR forms were sold,respectively. KMC received only 21,163 forms and Hindu College received 21,500 filled forms.

* The number of physically challenged students registered till June 6 stands at 158

* The highest number of forms — at 27,610 — was sold on Day 1 of admissions

* The highest number of forms — at 5,801 — was received on Day 4 of admissions

* The cost of each form is Rs 50
