A jobless youth and his friend,a private tutor,were arrested from Vikaspuri on Wednesday for allegedly running a school admission racket.
Police said they confiscated 17 fake admission forms and Rs 37,000 in cash from Amit Kumar,who is unemployed,and Pankaj Chaudhary,a graduate from Delhi University who runs a tuition centre.
They were picked up following a complaint from the principal of Sarvodya Bal Vidyalya in West Delhi.
Additional CP (West) V Renganathan said principal G B Mathur informed police after detecting three children wearing uniforms without the school logo. When he questioned them,the students said Amit Kumar had arranged for their admission.
Police said Kumar,a graduate from Darbhanga University in Bihar,and Chaudhary took Rs 4,000 to Rs 8,000 to admit 17 students to the school.
