Seven persons were arrested on Monday evening for allegedly robbing a jewellery shop in Karol Bagh and killing one of the employees earlier this month, and for robbing another jewellery store in January.
Police said the accused have been identified as Gopal, Ankit, Amit, Babloo, Chander, Babbu, and Baccho. All of them work in a jewellery store in Central Delhi.
“The arrest was made on Monday by the special staff of Central District. Police have also recovered 300 grams of jewellery from their possession,” a police officer said.

“During questioning, the accused told police that they had first committed a robbery in Regarpura area on January 15, where four of the accused persons had robbed a jewellery shop,” the officer said.
On March 5, three of the accused persons had robbed jewellery worth around Rs 15 lakh and killed an employee inside the shop in Beadonpura area of Karol Bagh.
Police said the deceased was identified as Milind Manjhi, who hailed from Kolkata and worked at a jewellery-making shop in street number 37 in Beadonpura.
“The deceased was working alongwith his co-workers in the fourth floor shop, when three armed assailants barged in. They held the employees at gunpoint and asked the workers to hand over the gold to them. When Milind resisted, one of the accused opened fire at him and fled with 600 grams of gold jewellery,” the officer said.
